HeadSpin Acquires NimbleDroid to Improve Client-Side Perfomance Monitoring

abstract3-1569313004

Mobile performance specialist HeadSpin has acquired NimbleDroid, a performance testing provider for mobile apps. The value of the deal was not disclosed. California-based HeadSpin will absorb NimbleDroid’s performance testing tools into its own platform, while the latter’s team, including co-founder and CEO Junfeng Yang and co-founder and CTO Younghoon Jeon will join the company. They will take on the positions of Chief Scientist and Fellow, respectively, at HeadSpin. Coupled with HeadSpin’s platform and network of 22,000 devices in 150 locations and proprietary software, the acquisition will provide a comprehensive platform for mobile testing, performance management and a user experience monitoring solution. HeadSpin, a Mountain View, CA-based mobile performance platform company, acquired NimbleDroid, an application performance testing company. “NimbleDroid provides developers with exactly what has been missing from HeadSpin. Until now, we haven’t had the ability to examine performance from the client-side,” wrote Sriram Krishnan, HeadSpin SVP of Product, Partnerships and Marketing, in an email announcing the deal. “Similarly, NimbleDroid customers will now be able to look at how client-cloud communication affects app performance. Taken together, HeadSpin and NimbleDroid’s technologies tell a complete (and very compelling) story of app performance.”
