Wipro, Accenture, Capgemini Among Nine Firms Shortlisted For SEBI Digital Revamp

The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has shortlisted seven tech companies, including Wipro, Accenture, HPE India, Capgemini and L&T Infotech, to build a private data cloud, automate the regulator’s inspection of brokers and enhance its analytics capabilities. The nine companies on the shortlist will undergo further evaluation by the SEBI. Ultimately, the selected partner or partners will collaborate with the SEBI on a large-scale digital transformation, aimed at revamping its surveillance and investigation functions. The private cloud, operated on the regulator’s premises, is intended to allow continuity of operations and quick recovery during an incident. Additionally, the regulator is looking to launch new, digital tools for the monitoring of mutual funds and the sharing of information with other entities. As part of the large-scale overhaul, the SEBI also plans to introduce a data analytics solutions to tackle the challenges arising from the technological advancement of capital markets.
