TestPlant launches new automation suite
London-based test automation vendor, TestPlant, has launched a new platform that it says will predict, verify and monitor an application before and after each release, and rate it on key criteria of user satisfaction, its success in conversion - or the change in functionality from the legacy app - adoption and retention.
Research commissioned by TestPlant found that 66% of 600 app developers in the UK and US interviewed cited automation as a critical challenge and 91% stated user expectations for app quality and innovation have increased.
The Digital Automation Intelligence Suite uses an AI-powered system to enable testing and analysis of applications as users would see and interact with those apps, TestPlant said. The AI system is built on Eggplant Performance, TestPlant's core software testing tool. One element of Eggplant is Eggplant AI, which employs machine learning and analytics to navigate applications, find defects, and predict where quality issues are likely to occur to help product teams resolve them, TestPlant said.
John Bates, CEO of Testplant, said: “To win in the Digital World and avoid the ‘app scrapheap’, enterprises must go beyond the current approaches to test automation. Testing must transition to become a profit center – testing not just code quality and app performance, but delivering predictive business metrics like satisfaction and retention."
"Only companies that adopt intelligent, end-to-end test automation approaches for software and apps will be able to keep pace with customer demands and the DevOps teams that support them.”
