Applitools Releases New UI Version Control System

Visual UI testing specialist Applitools has released its new UI Version Control system, allowing developers, test automation engineers and product managers to view the entire history of their web and mobile applications and to determine what’s changed, the date and time of the change and its author. The system also automatically runs visual tests as part of the GitHub build process. By performing visual validations for GitHub pull requests, it prevents visual bugs from escaping into production apps. According to Applitools, this eliminates the need for developers to build an earlier version of the app, thus freeing up product teams to develop new functionality. “UI version control lets product teams build smarter by capturing the entire visual history of their apps, so they have a record of what’s been improved — and what should be rolled back if the need arises. UI version control provides mission critical knowledge to help businesses manage the challenges linked to digital transformation,” said Adam Carmi, CTO of Applitools.
