• Adrian Thibodeau: Vice President, IT Strategy and Administration – Standard & Poor’s

• Lev Lesokhin: Executive Vice President, Strategy and Analytics – CAST

• Brian Timmeny: Global Head of Advanced Engineering, DevOps and Engineering Processes – BBVA

Panel Discussion – “Financial Firms, the DevOps Revolution and the Latest in Automated Quality Assurance Technologies

• Sudheer Mamadapur: Vice President, Global Test Delivery Manager – Credit Suisse

• Sven Gauggel: Vice President, Development Manager – Morgan Stanley

• Brian Timmeny: Global Head of Advanced Engineering, DevOps and Engineering Processes – BBVA

• Mark Lambert: Vice President of Products – Parasoft

DevOps methodologies are widely viewed as the critical enabler of new technologies, such as test service virtualization. But financial firms face particular cultural and business management challenges in implementing DevOps. One of those challenges is building the business case for investment in new technologies, at a time when CTOs and CEOs are looking for substantial savings from automation and the re-assessment of outsourcing requirements. Our panellists will share their experiences in tackling these conundrums.

Shifting Left Without Sacrificing Security and Compliance

Speaker: Maya Ber Lerner: Vice President of Product Management – Quali

As a growing number of financial enterprises look into adopting Cloud and DevOps, environment complexity is often cited as one of the top barriers for such initiatives. Focusing on a Shift Left philosophy to deliver production-like environment access early on in the development and test life-cycle can tremendously increase quality, cut down the cost to fix issues and, more importantly, increase innovation speed. This presentation will cover an example of using Cloud sandboxes to allow an authentic replication of production environments, making it possible for a financial firm to focus on releasing innovative capabilities fast, without sacrificing security and compliance.

Taming The Legacy Dragon: The First Step on a DevOps Transformation Journey for a 20th Century Payments Infrastructure

Speaker: Jim Tomaney – Chief Operating Officer – Renovite Technologies

Financial firms can extract the maximum leverage from automation by applying it to legacy systems. This presentation will focus on how this works for core banking systems, and for payment platforms. As far back as the 1980s, Jim worked on one of the first commercial-off-the-shelf payment platforms – one which is still deployed around the world, processing billions of transactions each month. Working with platforms such as this, Jim realised that increased processing hours and contracting release cycles were creating unsustainable pressure on the testing of legacy systems.  But there is way to de-risk legacy platform change.

Panel Discussion “Insurance Companies: Evolution and Revolution in Continuous App Delivery”

• Jason Jerina: Head of Quality Assurance, Application Support and Maintenance – New York Life

• Bryan Osterkamp: Lead Technical Architect, Testing Infrastructure – USAA

• Leon Rabin: Director of Quality Assurance – Guardian Life Insurance

Insurers face their own challenges in the digital transition; in data management, regulatory compliance and legacy systems. Our panel will compare the experience and plans of three major firms. What are the benchmarks they are setting for the quality and speed of app delivery, and - perhaps most importantly - improved customer service?

BankMobile: Evolution of a Mobile-First Bank and Fintech Start-up

Speaker: Dan Armstrong: Chief Digital Officer – BankMobile

BankMobile was created in 2015 as a division of NYSE-listed Customers Bancorp, and now has over two million customers in the US. Dan will explain how BankMobile developed its core banking platform in five phases of evolution to meet the needs of a mobile-first and oftendemanding young customer base. What will those customers be asking for tomorrow? What are the key IT risks for mobile banks? What technology change is possible, and what might fail?

Panel Discussion: “Quality Assurance, Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence”

Sundeep Kumar: Executive Director, Global Technology – JP Morgan Chase

Elliot Noma: Lecturer, Machine Learning – Columbia University

Everyone is talking about AI and machine learning - but how will firms test machine learning systems as they increasingly become a reality? Matthew Crabbe, CEO of QA Financial, will discuss these challenges and more with Sundeep and Elliot, who will share their insights on the challenges that JP Morgan Chase and other investment banks face when it comes to testing apps and trading software in complex markets such as derivatives, structured products, credit and FX.
