Introducing the QA Financial Forum Stockholm a unique conference for Heads of QA, testing, software engineering, DevOps, operational risk, and IT risk management. The Forum discusses the key issues facing banks, trading platforms and insurance companies as they seek to implement new technologies in software automation. A key focus is how financial firms benchmark software quality, especially as regulators increase their scrutiny of IT risk management.
Alexey started his professional career as a QA engineer in the Moscow division of a New York-based company specializing in providing enterprise network management solutions. When the company was acquired by Quest Software in 2003, Alexey was working as a senior software architect on several off-the-shelf products. In 2004, Alexey joined a company specializing on providing QA services for the financial industry. His first assignment with the company as a senior developer was to implement a test harness for testing the back-end of a major US broker's trading system. As a technical project lead and senior R&D manager, Alexey then oversaw a number of successful software releases for a few development, test automation and consulting projects for a number of the company's clients. As VP of Technology, Alexey also lead the company's work on developing several products including a back-end systems tester and an interactive exchange simulator. Alexey currently serves as co-CEO of Exactpro which he co-founded in 2009. The firm is focused on functional and non-functional testing of exchanges, clearing houses, depositories and other market infrastructures, thus providing software testing services for mission-critical technology that underpins global financial markets. In 2017, Exactpro was named Non-Functional Testing Provider of the Year in the prestigious QA Financial European Software & App Awards. The award is given to companies that set new standards of quality assurance, demonstrating innovation and excellence in response to the key challenges facing financial firms. Alexey graduated summa cum laude from the Moscow Engineering Physics Institute (MEPhI) and holds a Master of Sciences degree in Theoretical Physics.

Speaker: Matthew Crabbe, CEO and Founder – QA Media
In the context of automated testing and continuous app delivery, companies can often underestimate the importance of data management. This presentation will discuss key factors that determine the ROI of investing in data environments, including - at the micro level - the choice between hidden and synthetic data and - at the macro level - the opportunity to fully integrate data management with the company's data management. The impact of the Fundamental Review of the Trading Book (FRTB) by the Basel Committee on the requirements for testing trading and risk systems will also be addressed.
Speaker: Alexey Zverev, co-CEO & co-founder - Exactpro
How do testing tools fit into a world dominated by complex software? Over the last several years, the complexity of systems around us has been growing exponentially. Cloud, blockchain networks and AI are at the heart of emerging software that will dominate in the future. Due to the extreme complexity of such systems, testing is becoming more crucial to maintain them. On the other hand, testing itself is becoming extremely hard to implement. We believe that testing of such systems can only be done with the help of adequate toolkits. In this presentation, Alexey will discuss the requirements for a new generation of test tools. He will introduce, for the first time, a new test platform that Exactpro is planning to release in 2020.
Speaker: Jimmy Falkbjer, Principal Software Architect - Resurs Bank
Continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) is now possible but not necessarily easy. Our keynote speaker, Jimmy Falkbjer, will discuss the key drivers for reaching a seamless path from code to production. He will talk about Resurs Bank's journey from manual to automated testing, and how it is moving away from monoliths to containerizaton and microservices.
Speaker: Sudeepta Guchhait, Director - QA, Test Manager & Tools Architecture - Nasdaq
With the ever-growing speed with which software must go to market and the number of platforms it must support, it’s imperative to have a solid test framework allowing faster test development, holistic coverage and minimal maintenance. “Shift left testing” has created a strong push in test implementation and helped to overcome challenges faced in the software test life cycle. Sudeepta at Nasdaq provides the opportunity to learn from a product engineering team, how to achieve business agility with continuous testing and innovation. He will share how the benefits of faster time to market, reduced effort, higher coverage and quality have been realised. The presentation will also outline plans to continue to mature in terms of investment and adoption of automation technologies and processes.
Moderator: Laszlo Simity, Director of Technical Services, EMEA - Sauce Labs
Better UX is the key to winning market share. This panel session will cover testing options including traditional mobile app testing farms as well as cloud-based cross-browser testing farms. It will cover test automation stabilisation for the dynamic mobile landscape across a plethora of test frameworks — including Appium, Espresso, and XCUITest — as well as other platforms. We will also cover best practices for mixing real devices and virtual platforms, in addition to real environment conditions. Mindful of planned EU legislation, we will also discuss accessibility testing technologies for customers with handicaps.
Speaker: Salla Franzén, Group Chief Data Scientist - SEB
Data is increasingly becoming the foundation for all software development and AI. Salla Franzen will discuss how SEB's model production pipeline was built, the tools it uses, and how the output of AI is being tested. She will also address the ever-increasing regulations for the application of AI - how it is validated and tested for bias.

DevOps and Agile are widely recognised as keys to better quality assurance and testing, but one size does not fit all. Our experts will share the successes, challenges and obstacles on their DevOps journeys.
What is best practice in embedding security and penetration testing in the SDLC? And, as the move to the Cloud continues, how can firms create an enterprise view of data management that incorporates their investment in test environments? In particular, this session will discuss the potential and limitations of a DevSecOps framework, and identify which controls firms should be putting into place to position themselves to develop a mature and robust security framework.
An October 2019 survey by BoE and FCA found that machine learning (ML) in financial organisations has already passed an initial development phase, and the usage of live ML applications is about to dramatically increase over the next three years. Our panellists will talk about how ML, AI, and other technologies are being implemented at their firms, and - more importantly - how the outputs of AI are being tested. They will also discuss how compliance and regulation affect the implementation of new technologies.
