Vienna-based software test automation company Tricentis has acquired TestProject – a community-based test automation platform designed for Agile teams.

As part of the acquisition, Tricentis will invest in research and development to enhance TestProject, develop its product and extend its community. But the platform will continue to operate independently, Tricentis has said.

Built on the open-source testing tools Selenium and Appium, TestProject enables software teams to test web, Android and iOS apps using a low-code or no-code approach. TestProject users will be able to enhance their test automation with Tricentis capabilities, including Agile test management, end-to-end testing and load testing, Tricentis said.

Mark Kardashov, CEO of TestProject, will become Managing Director of TestProject. The TestProject team will continue to drive the platform’s  innovation within Tricentis.

“I’m extremely proud of what TestProject and our community have accomplished over the past several years, and I can’t wait to see what lies ahead,” Kardashov said. “Tricentis’s focus on the tester aligns perfectly with our own, and Tricentis’s scale, tools, and global brand will play a huge role in making TestProject the leader in community-powered test automation.”
