Do More with Less! Best Practices for QA Teams During Downturns 7 June 2023 Book Ticket

ServiceNow, the California-headquartered software company, has announced the launch of ServiceNow Cloud Observability, which will run on its software-as-a-service platform. The new offering is in turn based on the platform of observability specialist Lightstep, which ServiceNow acquired in 2021.

ServiceNow says the offering will utilise open source OpenTelemetry software to collect logs and metrics, in addition to a log management system that it acquired with its 2022 purchase of observability and log management specialists Era Software.

Pablo Stern, senior vice president and general manager for technology workflows products at ServiceNow, said: “The goal is to make it simpler to investigate IT issues involving applications and workflows that have multiple dependencies. That makes it possible to quickly diagnose an issue, determine the root cause and then dispatch the right site reliability engineering team to troubleshoot it.”
