Sauce Labs announces new front-end testing tool

Cloud-testing specialist Sauce Labs has combined functional and performance testing with this new tool, which is available as part of the Sauce Labs Continuous Testing Cloud. The tool will allow developers to test how well application functions work much earlier in the DevOps testing process. As inter-dependencies within modern applications increase, any flaws that impact an application can have a debilitating knock on effect to any number of microservices that make up the application. Applications are often not fully tested because developers need to learn how to use tools that have different user interfaces and then switch between testing tools. The result is complex which makes it tempting to short-change elements of the testing process. Sauce Performance allows developers to use existing Selenium test scripts to capture data rather than requiring integration with a load/stress testing tool or a separate APM tool. It is hoped that this new tool will make it easier for developers to test their own code as part of their DevOps best practices.
