Planit, the Australian-based test automation specialist, has acquired UK-based Shift Left Group, increasing its UK headcount by more than 50% to over 300.

Going forward, Shift Left Group will continue to use its own brand, providing  managed QA services, including test automation, cloud acceleration, and DevOps adoption.

“Through this acquisition, we can leverage Shift Left’s suite of services and strong customer base to expand our offerings throughout the UK and into Europe, which is key to executing our Vision 2030 strategy,” said Mike Weale, CEO of Planit (pictured).

Backed by its parent company – Japan’s Nomura Research Institute – Planit aims to become the largest specialist quality engineering service provider worldwide by 2030, with a focus on growth into the UK and northern Europe through mergers and organically before moving to establish a foothold in Asia. In recent months, Planit also acquired Qual IT, a New Zealand based QA integration company.

With a presence in the UK since 2014, Planit holds offices in Reading and London, and had a headcount of 195 before the acquisition of Yorkshire-based Shift Left Group.
