EBA Launches PSD2 Register of Payment and E-Money Providers

eba-1569318063

The European Banking Authority has launched a central register under PSD2 (the updated Payment Services Directive) in order to provide information on payment and e-money institutions, as well as 150,000 agents. The register is freely accessible to the public and allows users to see the identity of authorised payment and electronic money providers, as well as their country of establishment. Entries also freature information about the services they provide and about passporting – the services provided in host member states. “The EBA has worked hard to provide a freely accessible and reliable source of key information for market participants across the single market that will facilitate the roll out of PSD2, support the provision of the newly regulated payments services and improve transparency for consumers in the EU,” said Adam Farkas, executive director at the EBA.
