US-based IT consultancy Cognizant has named Brian Humphries as its new CEO, replacing current chief executive Francisco D’Souza. D’Souza will stay on as Vice-Chairman of the company’s board of management. He co-founded the firm and has served as CEO since 2007. He will co retain the title of Executive Vice Chairman until June 30, 2019, and step down from the executive function after that date. Humphries will join Cognizant from his current position as CEO of Vodafone Business, a subsidiary of British telecom Vodafone Group. There, he has spearheaded the company’s technology development in a number of areas, including cyber-security and the internet of things. He has previously held executive positions at Dell and Hewlett Packard Enterprise. “Our industry is entering a dynamic new growth stage. Brian is a broadly experienced technology executive with a proven track record of driving enterprise-wide transformation through focused execution, often in challenging and highly competitive market segments,” said Michael Patsalos-Fox, Cognizant’s Chairman of the Board in a statement.
