AWS Acquires Cloud Optimisation Specialist TSO Logic
Amazon Web Services (AWS) has bought out cloud migration specialist TSO Logic, according to a press release on the latter’s site. The company develops analytics tools to help companies optimise their cloud migrations and configure their AWS workloads.
Its tools provide a “data-driven analysis of total cost of ownership and cost modelling for [clients'] ideal future state,” the company claims, by processing a vast amount of data points from a customer’s current environment, including age, generation and configuration of hardware and software, as well as each instance’s historical utilisation.
It then creates a statistical model for all OS instances, showing how much a customer is spending, where they’re over-provisioned and where there are opportunities to realise savings. Lastly, TSO Logic recommends potential options for running workloads in public and private cloud configurations.
