Appvance, the California-based testing software developer, has released a new product, the Appvance Unified Testing Automation Platform (UTP). The platform, according to Appvance, was specifically designed to help facilitate implementation of DevOps. Appvance UTP is expected to enter the market in Q3 of 2016. Customers using the existing Appvance PerformanceCloud (APC) will be able to upgrade.
Kevin Surace, company CEO, said that the Appvance UTP was designed to advance testing automation technologies by eliminating the old test silos, allowing enterprises to achieve QA cycles measured in hours. Financial firms that are looking to implement DevOps have a particular use for test automation. “Most financial institutions have been trying to push a DevOps for some time, but they can’t take the risk of cutting back on any level of QA to get releases out faster. UTP allows a financial institution to have a level of assurance at every single build, even if they occur hourly,” said Surace.
Appvance UTP unifies unit, functional, performance, load, app-penetration, compatibility, database, DDoS, and mobile tests onto one platform. The company said that the platform will work with legacy scripts and tools like Selenium, Visual Basic, HTTP Archive (HAR), Perl, Groovy, Selenium RC, .NET, C#, PHP, Jruby, SoapUI, JMeter, Sahi, JUnit, Jython and more.
Appvance UTP can be deployed in a variety of ways, including behind a firewall, or from Appvance Cloud, Amazon AWS, RackSpace OpenStack, Azure, Savvis or IBM SoftLayer.
The company said that Appvance UTP will allow firms to avoid the “QA bottleneck,” speeding up the development cycle. Appvance UTP unifies all tests within one platform, and helps communications between development, operations and QA teams.
