Applause, the Boston-based crowd testing specialist, has launched a new programme – dubbed Applause Labs –  designed to explore next-generation testing ideas. Applause Labs will use a rapid proof-of-concept format that encompasses both the company’s R&D initiatives as well as an expanded focus on developing new testing concepts and “We will investigate and deliver some entirely new product offerings,” the company said.

Applause has also announced the launch of its new Applause Quality Score (AQS) benchmark; a calculated value – ranging from 0 to 100 – which it says will serve as a metric, providing its clients with insights into their overall quality build-over-build, as well as quality trends over time. “While the right time to release a build is largely a gut call today, the purpose of the AQS is to help make these decisions data driven and defensible,” the company said.  “By providing a tangible number based on testing results, the AQS will make those critical release/don’t release decisions much quicker and easier, and it can all be found in a simple and clean interface.”

“We are uniquely positioned to deliver the AQS to enterprise companies because we created the crowdtesting category over a decade ago and have the historical data necessary to know what the standard for great digital quality looks like. Over time, we will continue to evolve the AQS through  Applause Labs”.
