Actifio Launches SaaS Solution for Data Management in the Cloud

Data specialist Actifio has announced the launch of a software-as-a-service (SaaS) offering, dubbed Actifio Go. The solution promises to make it easier for teams to manage data across multiple clouds. Actifio GO is based on Actifio Sky software and is intended  to enable customers to quickly deploy a service and begin protecting data in multiple clouds without installing additional software or hardware. The new software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform offers direct-to-cloud backup to AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google, IBM and Wasabi public clouds. The initial GO supports VMware vSphere virtual machines (VMs). Actifio CEO Ash Ashutosh said the copy data management pioneer will add support for more platforms — including hypervisors and databases — and other public clouds. Last week, Actifio announced a partnership with IBM to accelerate the adoption of its SaaS solution among companies working in DevOps. Under the agreement, IBM will make available data management software developed by Actifio under its own name. The solution in question is Actifio’s Virtual Data Pipeline.
